Estate/Tag Sale Service

Making it easy on you…getting the most value for your possessions…that’s our focus.

As soon as we are called to your home, we consider you part of our Heirlooms family.  Our approach is caring and thorough, and begins with a discussion centered on the best strategy for selling possessions that you no longer want or need as you transition through times of change.

Once we agree to work together with the common goal of selling furniture, accessories, jewelry, art and other possessions for the best value possible, we establish a time frame for the process to get underway based on your needs.

Six steps comprise the Heirlooms Estate/Tag Sale Service

  1. We set a start date when our team comes to your home to identify and sort items for salability, using our trained eye and    relying on our knowledge and experience to determine value.
  2. At that time, we ascertain if any items need special research, we will undertake that research on a timely basis, to ensure we price everything in a way that reflects their value.
  3. We complete the inventory and price each salable item.
  4. Prior to the sale, we stage each room in your home to showcase each of the items for sale.
  5. We are now ready to promote the multi-day event (typically three days–Thursday, Friday and Saturday) by announcing the sale on specialty on-line sites, a mass emailing to our customer list, prominent focus on our website, as well as advertising in local print media.
  6. Within one week of the tag sale, we present you with the results and your check.

What if something doesn’t sell?  Our options include:

  • Contracting with a vendor to purchase some or all of the remaining items
  • Paying a vendor a fee to dispose of the unsold items
  • Working with a local non-profit to donate remaining items
  • If you prefer, we will leave the items in the home for you.

Full or Partial Purchase Program

Remember, our goal is to meet your needs.  If a Tag sale isn’t the right choice for you, we offer a full or partial purchase program.  Whether you have one piece of furniture or a house full of ‘stuff’, we can make you an offer to purchase these items.

Four steps make up our Purchase Program

  1. A review of all of the items you (or someone you represent) want to sell with be conducted
  2. We will offer you a fair price based on our years of experience and our understanding of the current market
  3. We identify a timeline and set goals to remove the items
  4. Our team arrives to pack and pay you in cash, or check if you prefer.

Perfect Packing Service

Trying to sort and then pack items to take to a new location can be one of the most difficult, tedious things to do.

Not for Heirlooms.  We believe packing can be a beautiful thing.

Heirlooms specializes in helping clients determine what to leave and what to take, based on the size of your new location and your needs and wishes.

Once you contact us, we will meet with you to review preferences and assess the layout of your new location.  From this discussion, we can help you determine what will fit best, based on the specifications of your new space.

We will then assist with the inventory (where we organize what goes where) and packing (where we use extra care and attention to protect everything we touch).

All boxes are clearly marked with a list of contents.

When Heirlooms finishes the packing, everything is organized and ready for the movers to pick up.

Easy Move-In Liaison Service (for local moves only)

You’ve got a life to live, things to do, last minute details to attend to, and you or a relative are just days away from moving into a new place.  The last thing you may want to do is worry about how clean it is or trying to figure out what will go where.  You can’t face the mountains of boxes that need unpacking, or think about shopping or cooking or….it can just be too much.

Heirlooms’ Easy Move-In Liaison Service gives you a break from such headaches by serving as your liaison and acting on your behalf to:

  • Contract with a cleaning professional if the home needs cleaning prior to move in and make sure the job is done well
  • On delivery day, direct movers to place furniture where it belongs, based on your wishes
  • Unpack boxes, set up your kitchen, make the beds, put lines away–make the house completely ready for you or a family member to relax
  • We can also arrange for fresh flowers or even a meal to be delivered on the first day at the new location.
